The starting point
Zerve had deep domain expertise, real customer wins, and a blog that produced 291 organic sessions in a year. Non-branded impressions were essentially zero. The content that existed was not built to rank, and none of it was structured for the AI answer engines a growing share of their buyers now use before they ever click a link.
The audience made this harder, not easier. Data scientists and engineers evaluating a notebook environment do not read fluff. They read something because it teaches them a technique, solves an error, or compares two tools honestly. So the bar was not just to publish more. It was to publish content a skeptical technical reader would actually finish.
The method
Search content now has to earn its ranking twice: once with Google, once with the AI answer engines. So every piece was built to do both jobs. Direct answers near the top, specific technical detail a model can quote cleanly, honest comparisons, and structure that both a crawler and a human can follow.
Query research came first, grounded in how the audience actually searches: how-to and integration queries, error messages, and X vs Y comparisons against the tools they were weighing. Then a steady cadence of two or more posts a week, so the library compounded instead of arriving in one burst and going stale.

The result
Organic blog sessions grew 537.8% year over year, from 291 to 1,856, with 394K total impressions. The post that moved fastest was written explicitly as an SEO and GEO asset. Within eight weeks it ranked #2 on Google for its non-branded query, earned an AI Overview citation, and became the highest-traffic post on the blog at 1,654 sessions.
That single post is its own story, and the reason Zerve now shows up when someone asks an AI which notebook tools to consider. You can read the AI search visibility case study for how that happened.
“We brought Summer in at Zerve when we needed content that could actually drive organic search, and the results were hard to argue with. Blog traffic grew over 500% year over year, with individual posts ranking and pulling real traffic within weeks of publishing.”
